Kingsman Dog Park Maintenance Volunteers Still Needed: A HUGE thank you to Hill Hounds member Erica Wilkins for… http://goo.gl/fb/RwCae

About Kingsman Dog Park

The park opened on March 25th, 2011 and is open 7 AM to 10 PM all 365 days a year! It does not have an address, since it's not a building, so please see the map below for its location.

Having applied to the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to create Kingmsman Field Dog Park in April of 2008, Hill Hounds is the official park partner organization for it. Hill Hounds members worked with DPR staff on the design of the park and while DPR paid for major construction expenses, the organization was responsible for raising money to pay for desired amenities beyond the basics, such as benches and a shade structure. Hill Hounds is also responsible for much of the day to day maintenance at the park, including buying supplies.

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered or donated so far, especially our largest donors, Capitol Hill Community Foundation, which made a grant of $2,500 to help buy park amenities, and Rebecca and Charles Borden, who sponsored a bench with a $2,500 donation. If you plan to use the park regularly, please donate and/or volunteer to help out!

In order to utilize the park, dogs need to have a DC dog park tag and, if they live in the District, they will need to be up to date on their annual dog license with the Department of Health. For more info, check out DPR's Rules and Guidelines for Use of District of Columbia Dog Exercise Areas.
